The Persecuted Church

Every Tuesday morning at 7AM we gather to pray as a community in Doak Walker Plaza.

This week we're praying over the persecuted church. We are praying for divine equipping and supernatural breakthrough over our brothers and sisters across the world who are facing persecution for their faith in Christ. Here are this week's prayer points:

1. Pray for perseverance under persecution and unapologetic faithfulness to the message of the Gospel.

Therefore we ourselves boast about you in the churches of God for your steadfastness and faith in all your persecutions and in the afflictions that you are enduring.
— 2 Thessalonians 1:4
For it is better to suffer for doing good, if that should be God’s will, than for doing evil.
— 1 Peter 3:17
Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are you when others revile you and persecute you and utter all kinds of evil against you falsely on my account. Rejoice and be glad, for your reward is great in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.
— Matthew 5:10-12

2. That God would provide rest and restoration in the midst of suffering, trials, and persecution.

and to grant relief to you who are afflicted as well as to us, when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven with his mighty angels
— 2 Thessalonians 1:7

3. Spiritual eyes (for those persecuted and their families) to see their circumstances, their heavenly duty, and their eternal hope.

so that you may approve what is excellent, and so be pure and blameless for the day of Christ,
— Philippians 1:10

4. For an increased and renewed hope and confidence in the Lord to be able to boldly proclaim His message without fear.

And most of the brothers, having become confident in the Lord by my imprisonment, are much more bold to speak the word without fear.
— Philippians 1:14

5. That the Body of Christ would grow exponentially and for the love of Christ to reign.

I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.
— John 16:33
